SaNdY aNd CaRo's aDvEnTuReS

Ok... for those of you who are Australian and have gone to St Leonards do you remember all those tours we went on with CUE? Well I turned that into a tour and we managed to do the Vic Market in the same day... (exhausting). Amy Rossnagel one of mom and dad college friends' daughters came to stay with us for two days so she met us in the city.

The market was fun (as always) we stocked up on food and Caro bought me a beautiful bag (thankyou very much Caro). We also did the degreaves St tour stopping for donoughts, the grafitti and of course Suga and Coco Black (the best candy and chocolate stores in town).

Anyway photos and caro will describe the rest...

We made a wonderful French lunch sometime last weeks (i'm losing track of the days). We had 3 courses and it was delicious (even if it took us 4 hours to make and I got burnt during the cooking) But none of that mattered as the food tasted awesome and we proved what wonderful master chefs we were. (and having nearly the whole Roberts family, Potter family and Guests on two tables was no mean feat)...

So this happened three days ago...
Hayley was due back that night and we decided to catch the train up to the city and the bot gardens and have a picninc with Thea. Having run late and bought our food at the Hampton fruit market we rushed to the station to meet Thea.

Quelques jours auparavant.... Hayley, la corres de pauline est revenue!!
Pleines d'idés, sac à dos sur le dos, nous voilà partie pour un pique nique!! un Saut au fruit market; six billets de trains pour une super jounée au jardin botanique!! Maman audrey, petite soeur Katie, copine théa, et hayley et pauline et nous deux!!

At the gardens we wandered a bit then sat down and ate our gorgeous lunch of Frenchstick's, brie, vegetables and Thea's yummy cupcakes... So yeah i'll let Caro and the pictures tell the rest

Voilà un pique nique digne d'élisabeth (la reine): Fromag français; baguette française, deux françaises; comment vouliez vous que ça rate!?! Non je rigole (arf quel humour!) Théa avait préparé de super muffins; à la fois appréciable et appréciés!! Aaaah oui, nous posons, dur la phoo ci dessous, devant un monument au morts: quelle belle journée...

In and amongst the many exciting things that we have been doing (that will get their own blogs) we have done little things that don't quite get their own but at least they can share

Ca balance!! Se faire plaisir; ne pas avoir peur du ridicule; et puis de toute façon; je ne me fais pas trop d'illusions quant à retourner en Australie donc pas de complexe: je me permet les pires trucs, faire de la balançoire en fait partie!!A près une longue ballade sur la plage; nous étions crevées, j'ai insisté pour faire un tour de balançoire; le résultat est là: nous avons toutes les trois fait de la balançoire!! ( oula! que de répétitions)! Oh oui, je me suis fait later à la course (celle qui monte le plus haut) comme le montre la photo!!

Ok so there is a little kid in all of us... well they don't have swings in France and now Caro, Pauline and I are discovering our inner child. We had a lot of fun after a long just swinging on the swing and taking photo's (while a bemused toddler and their parent looked on). Anyway the trampoline has also proved a great fascination as they don't have them in Lyon. So we have been letting out our inner kids and having fun with Caramello Koala (but that is another story...)

Depuis que Caroline est arrivee nous avons visite la plage 3 fois!!! 3 fois en 3 jours!!! C'etait genial!! (en hiver nous ne visite pas beacoup la plage, mais j'adore la plage). Alors, la premiere fois nous avons vu un beau coucher de soleil et nous avons vu les meduses aussi. Nous nagerons dans la mer mais il y a seulement 9 degrees. La mer est tres tres froide pendant l'hiver. Nous avons faits beaucoup de promenades longues pres de la plage parce-que il n y la plage pres de Lyon. Nous nous amusons bien a la plage.

The beach is probably the most beautiful place we have ever visited !! (and the only place, it's true!). In here, the beach is composed of sand, sea (like everywhere) and the difference is there are lots of trees and grass!! I had a lot of fun touching the jelly fish ("méduse" pour les francophones); because it's a strange feeling! I have taken a lot of photos!! It's the first time i saw a sun set!!

As Caro says this beach is very beautiful and it's really peaceful to come here to see the sand with the fish in the sea. I thing it's a lovely day.Everydays are lovely days and i'm really happy to be here with my host family for 2 months it's a good experience and we 'll keep a lots of memories.For me Australia is like the heaven and i feel nice very well.And it's the first time i have a swimming pool in my garden (la classe!!!! non!)

Paline is french! She's our neighbour! she stays in Hayley's house; but Hayley is not here and she has to play with her brothers! We are spending our journey together! We often walk (because we have to be slim, mdr!), along the beach, the road and the shops, talking about anything and everything. I leave the keyboard to Sandy who will continue to wrie in french!!

Quelle catastrophe!! Moi, ecrire en Francais oh la la la la. Ce n'est pas une bonne idee!!! D'accord comme Caro a dit nous avons rencontre Pauline. Elle est tres sympa et tout les deux Caro et Pauline parlent l'anglais. C'est vrai!!!"we try to" Il y a trois jours quand Caro et Pauline sont arrivees et nous avions deja visite la plage 3 fois. Et aussi nous avons visite Southland et les autres magazins. Nous parlons de tout.  Cependant, le francais est trop difficile pour moi pour le moment. Je suis fatiguee je dois me coucher. Nous avons fait une grande promenade aujourd'hui.

Deux filles...quoi de plus normal! Une française: c'est moi! et une australienne (autwalienne avec l'accent)! Le système est simple; je vais en australie deux mois et Sandra vient en france deux mois aussi! (oui, je sais que j'ai une tête de cul sur la photo mais que voulez vous, c'est ma nature)

Two girls... together their stories will weave across two cultures and two different lives. An Australian girl (me) and a French girl who is not at all like a stereotypical French person. ma super correspondante habite au sud de l'australie ( à côté des pingouins; oui oui); à coté de Melbourne qui est la deuxième ville d'Australie! Elle est très courageuse comme le montre la photo; car l'eau était à neuf degrés thermometre en main! Son français est très bon même si je lui est interdit de l'utiliser en Australie ( toujours aussi diplomate; je sais)! c'est difficile de parler de quelqu'un que l'on ne connait pas beaucoup! Quoi qu'il en soit pour ce début de séjour tout se passe bien; nous nous entendons vraiment bien ! Elle est ECOLO (deuxième Janis?); il y a des panneaux solaires sur le toit de la maison...Pour les matières scolaires elle étudie essentiellement l'anglais, le français; les maths les sciences, le sport (très important en australie: le hockey); histoire et littérature! Elle fait du... THEATRE!! Le systeme d'échange est bien fait!!

Caroline or Caro is an incredible and wonderful person. Her English is very very good and we get along like a house on fire. She is from Lyon the second biggest city in France (well a suburb of Lyon). She loves skiing acting swimming and now the beach (we have gone to the beach every day she has been here). Did i mention her English is excellent? Oh I did... well it is...She also studies 4 other languages!!!!! She is crazy!!!!! I only do 2!!!!!!!! She is very political, like me and she doesn't like the TV also like me. It's a perfect match. She wants to be a journalist and she is doing an economic stream! So yeah thats it I will update later... Oh yeah and she loooves reading YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!
